Pros and cons of 7 Minute Superhero Workout app for iPhone and iPad

7 Minute Superhero Workout app good for

I love the developers other app, Zombies Run, so I gave this a shot. Before I even finished the tutorial I was hooked. Turns out theres nothing more entertaining than laser sounds when I throw a punch.
A couple of things for people considering this app: 1) The moves/workouts are difficult and not customizable. If this is a problem for you start with a different app and consider working up to this one. 2) Its not child friendly. At all. Dont get it for your children. Its an app for adults who dont mind profanity. 3) You have to move the phone in between exercises, depending on where the moves are being done. You are given enough time to do this. 4) Reps arent counted perfectly. Thats because the app uses the technology it has available. i.e. The little camera on your phone. It is far from perfect technology. If these things do not pose a problem to you, then this is a great, 5 star app! Its fun, its effective, it gets you up off your butt while engaging your imagination with a story that makes you feel like a hero! I am really enjoying it and plan to continue my superhero training for a long time!
I hope this app will encourage a more frequent work out for me to help improve my health through play. After trying it I found the tracking didnt work (but I was outside, not the optimum environment). Regardless I tried to keep up and it was quite fun. I imagine there would need to be level adjustments in future as its quite hard (if your unfit like me). I should probably score it less but I have high hopes for future updates... P.s. Id consider buying an Xbox if this game had a bigger Xbox brother...
Works great. I cant believe how hard it is, or Im out of shape
I dont review games often, unless theres a bug that needs to be addressed. Ive had this app for a few months because I decided to buy the bundle and I hadnt used it until the new year. So far Ive done an eight minute work out a day, sometimes more than once depending on my boredom or motivation. I love it. Its excellent. Im not too great at a few of the work outs so I cheat a little. I cant do a solid ten push ups to save y life so I do the"girly" ones, and Ive only just been able to hold the plank for the full time the last few work outs. My favourite is the punching. XD Anyway the story is great so far and I definitely can feel a burn in my body and I love it. Makes exercise fun which is great for someone like me who hates the gym life.

Some bad moments

I was very excited about this app - but every time I try to load a workout, it crashes! I havent been able to use it once! Definitely not worth what I spent...
Like the idea, but needs some improvements. Counts one of my reps as two or three, and doesnt tell you to switch sides on certain exercises.
I tried the tutorial last night and did the first episode this morning. Motion tracking is better than I expected and good enough for me but it wasnt 100% accurate. It will miss a few or add a few reps, but I could have placed the phone better. I worked up a sweat with the first one and I am excited for more! One issue I have though, is that it says I only exercised for a total of 8 minutes on my stats, but the first episode was 17 minutes? It would also be nice to have all my exercises logged and reviewable like zombielink, with a summary of the story. I was concentrating on the exercise and probably missed half the story! Keep up the good work!
This is a cool idea and naturally the story telling is is great. There a few things that could be improved though. Firstly, the screen continually goes black so I have to stop what Im doing and fix it. Second, graphics to go along with what were doing (like hitting meteors or holding the ship...etc) might be nice. Also rep counting could use some tweaking as it isnt always correct. Other wise this is a cool concept with a good story (even if it does seem to be a bit if a spin off if the X-box Halo game).
Motion tracking works surprisingly well, and the storys interesting. I was sweating hard after the first workout and had a good time. Definitely using it again tomorrow. However I had problems with airplay. Theres no way to set the speakers within the app, so I had to use beats music. Superheros story played under the music, making it hard to hear what was happening. Also, superhero only plays audio over airplay - not the video instructions. Its very difficult to read the screen from the recommended 2 meter distance. I had to walk forward to figure out the exercise and then walk back to do them. 5 stars once these bugs are fixed!
I just did the tutorial, and as others have said, the rep count isnt 100% accurate. Otherwise, its fun! I cant wait to see how this one evolves.
